Seletti BIC Lamp Blue
The world's most familiar pen. Now 173cm of warm glowing light.
An object you already know, made 12 times more powerful.
Since 1950, more than 100 billion BIC Cristal pens have been made. It sits on desks in every country on Earth. Mario Paroli asked a simple question. What if the most familiar object of the last seventy-five years stopped being a tool and became the light in the room?
The result is a 173cm homage cast in glass and moulded plastic. The barrel glows honey-warm. The cap keeps its unmistakable royal blue. The BIC script sits exactly where memory says it should. From three metres away it looks completely right. Up close it looks completely impossible.
Every detail from the original, scaled up and lit from within.
This is not a print. Not a metaphor. Not a stylised nod. Every element of the BIC Cristal is here, one by one, twelve times larger than you remember. The cap. The clip. The transparent barrel. The blue stopper at the base. The BIC script and mascot etched into the side. Down to the little dot of ink at the tip, redrawn as a warm point of light.
Floor. Wall. Pendant. Choose the room, then the format.
Most sculptural lights lock you into one placement. Not this one. The same BIC Lamp lives happily on the floor of a living room, on a wall behind a bed, or suspended over a dining table like an oversized piece of drawing.
Floor lamp
Stands 173cm tall on the blue base, casting warm light upward through the barrel. Ideal beside a sofa or against a bold wall.
Wall sconce
Mount it diagonally or horizontally to turn any wall into a graphic statement. Works above a headboard, along a hallway, or over a desk.
Pendant light
Suspend horizontally over a dining table or kitchen island. The BIC hovers in the air like a line of light drawn across the ceiling.
Serious light performance inside a serious piece of humour.
The joke lands because the engineering is real. Inside the transparent glass barrel is a professionally specified T8 LED tube, chosen to give the warm ambient light you want at home, not the harsh white you get from a shop fitting.
A conversation piece that also happens to light your home.
Furniture is polite. Lighting is functional. A BIC Lamp does both, and then does the one thing neither of them ever does. It makes people stop, look, and smile.

The difference between a lamp you buy and a lamp your friends photograph.
A regular statement light
- Beautiful, but visually invisible after two weeks
- Locked to one placement, one format, one room
- Serious mood, needs a serious room to match it
- Handsome, forgettable, easy to walk past
- Every design magazine has already photographed it
Seletti BIC Lamp Blue
- Instantly recognisable, endlessly conversation-starting
- Works as floor lamp, wall sconce, or pendant
- Warm 2400 lumen glow, playful in any room style
- The kind of piece guests photograph on their way out
- A limited-run collaboration, not a mass-market fixture
Everything you were going to ask.
